League play should be a lot of fun in the 4A North. It starts tonight.
In the High Desert League, can Reno or McQueen chase down Spanish Springs? In the Sierra League, Bishop Manogue, Galena and Carson will all be in the mix.

1. Spanish Springs Cougars (11-4, 6-0)
The target now rests solely on the Cougars’ back.
Spanish Springs went to Bishop Manogue on Friday and led for nearly the entire game, winning 68-61. Spanish Springs is the only team in the 4A North without a regional loss.

2. Bishop Manogue Miners (10-6, 5-1)
A seven-point home loss to Spanish Springs doesn’t diminish the Miners’ regional title aspirations.
Aidan Cantwell is one of the best pure scorers in the 4A North.

3. Galena Grizzlies (13-3, 5-1)
It wasn’t a dominant week for the Grizzlies, but they won two home games nonetheless.
Galena snuck past Reno, 51-48, then avoided an upset to Reed, 56-50.

4. Reno Huskies (11-4, 4-2)
Reno nearly played spoiler at Galena last Tuesday, then Douglas nearly returned the favor on Friday night. The Huskies edged the Tigers, 63-58.
Reno goes to Hug on Tuesday night to play a sneaky Hawks team.

5. Carson Senators (4-9, 4-2)
Carson beat North Valleys and McQueen last week by an aggregate total of 51 points.
Non-league play hasn’t been kind to the Senators, but they’re just one game out of first place in the Sierra League.
