The Reed baseball program is getting facelift.
Levi Matherly took over the program in the offseason and is pumping in what many viewed as a necessary breath of fresh air.
Change is rarely cheap. And it is never free.
To combat some costs of operation, Matherly and the new staff will host a preseason banquet at Baldini’s Casino in the Sierra Room on Saturday, March 4.
“Come out to meet the Reed Raiders baseball coaching staff, see old friends, and enjoy a beverage, and spaghetti dinner; all while supporting a great cause,” the event’s flyer reads.
Along with dinner and drinks, the event will feature a silent auction, raffle and liquor barrel.
The tax-deductible tickets are $40 when purchased in advance. The event starts at 6 p.m.
Contact Stacy Imperato to RSVP. She can be reached via phone (775-771-3031) or email (msimperato@sbcglobal.net).
The Raiders start the 2017 season on Thursday, March 9 with a home non-league game against Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) as part of the annual Mike Bearman Memorial Tournament.
Reed went 17-14, 10-12 last year.
