A whopping total of 10 Spanish Springs student athletes inked national letters of intent at a signing ceremony held outside the school’s gym on Wednesday afternoon.

Two of the 10 will compete at the Div. I level in the Mountain West.

Sprinter Jessica Ozoude signed with Colorado State after verbally committing last month. Ozoude is the reigning 4A state champ in the 100 meter, 200m and 400m.

Pitcher Casey Miller signed at UNLV. He gave his verbal commitment to the Rebels in February.

His teammate, and fellow pitcher, Jordan Santos will play Div. II baseball for Concordia University in Portland, Ore.

Lineman Tyler Barats committed to play football at the University of Jamestown – an NAIA program in North Dakota, 100 miles west of Fargo.

Justus Eaglesmith completed the non-junior college signees. The point guard will continue his career for Div. III Willamette University in Salem, Ore.

Four boys soccer players are headed to Lake Tahoe Community College located on the lake’s south shore. Jose Estrada, Hugo Rodriguez, David Trujillo and Daniel Vasquez will all play for the Coyotes, who have been playing soccer for just three seasons. They finished 12-5-6 in the fall.

Delaney Spinks rounded out the bunch. She will play volleyball at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa – about 100 miles northwest of Des Moines. Spinks missed her senior season at Spanish Springs with a torn ACL, PCL and MCL suffered in January of her junior year.
