Who’s hot?

Christian Walker. The Aces’ 26-year-old first baseman has dominated in his first 11 games with Reno. He’s batting .348 with four homes runs (tied for the second most in the Pacific Coast League), four doubles, and a PCL-leading 16 RBIs. He’s also scored 12 runs, tops in the PCL. In Sunday’s 11-6 home win over El Paso, Arizona’s No. 30 ranked prospect went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and scored twice. Walker was named the PCL Player of the Week – the first Ace to receive the honor since Mitch Haniger (now the starting left fielder for the Seattle Mariners) the week of July 18-24 last season.

Who’s not?

The Northern Nevada weather. Reno’s home game with Albuquerque on Thursday was postponed to Friday due to spring snow that moved through the region. Snow started falling right at the 6:35 p.m. first pitch and forced the teams to leave the field with just the third batter of the game in the box. Reno and Albuquerque split the doubleheader one day later.
