Boys Golf: Reno clinches league title, Reed’s Forman medalist

Huskies win fourth consecutive tournament to start season

Reno wrapped up the High Desert League title with a victory at Sierra Sage on Tuesday afternoon.

The Huskies’ carded a team score of 395, 12 strokes better than both Reed and Spanish Springs, which tied for second. It was their fourth straight win to start the season. McQueen (433) took fourth.

Reed’s Brandon Forman turned in the lowest score of the tournament, a crisp 72. He edged out Reno’s Tommy Zumtobel by a single stroke.

Evan Way (80), Andrew Emerson (82) and Jimmy Harris (83) also flirted with going sub-80.

Austin Woods (78) finished with the lowest round of the day for Spanish Springs, one stroke better than Pat Penrod and two better than Nick Frankoski.

The HDL circuit makes its way to Hidden Valley Country Club on Monday.
