Julia Jensen, Reed softball

Reed’s senior ace became the third pitcher in Nevada history to reach 1,000 career strikeouts. The Nevada commit reached the milestone in Saturday’s 3-2 nine-inning win at Reno when she threw all nine innings, scattering three hits, and did not allow an earned run. She fanned 15. In total for the week, Jensen went 3-0 and gave up a lone earned run on seven hits in 19 innings while striking out 39 and walking no one. She also did it at the plate, going 5-for-12 with four doubles, six RBIs and four runs scored.

The Scheels Athlete of the Week is announced every Tuesday throughout the athletic calendar. The winner receives a $50 gift card to Scheels.
