The Regional Transportation Commission is also urging residents to plan for delays at the Rock Boulevard and Prater Way intersection this weekend when it will be fully closed to traffic. The intersection will shut down on Friday evening, April 28 and will not reopen until the Monday morning of May 1. Although detours will be in place, weekend commuters may experience delays on surrounding routes.
This RTC project is related to the 4th Street and Prater Way construction taking place to enhance the safety and mobility of this corridor and upgrade the storm drain system. The RTC is working with the City of Sparks and Truckee Meadows Water Authority to complete the project and the nearby businesses will be open and accessible throughout the work. For more information on this project, visit www.4thprater.com.
“We closely coordinate with the RTC and other agencies on major road construction projects like this,” says Ragonese. “The way we’ve sequenced the Glendale Project means there will be no major impact to Rock Boulevard this weekend,” she adds.
