The most important news to come out of Washington last week was that the new Health Care Bill that is designed to replace Obama Care passed by the narrowest of margins.
As predicted, the vote was strictly on party lines with a number of Republican Congressmen joining the Democrats who voted against it in lock step.
During Obama’s administration, he was constantly stating that he wished to grow the economy “from the middle outwards” in both directions. Actually, he stepped on the economy through Obama Care, which killed any hope of expansion for small businesses. Obama apparently didn’t realize that business creation starts at the top with big and small entrepreneurs.
A jubilant President Trump held a celebratory session in the Rose Garden as soon as the final tally on the bill was announced. It marked the first significant piece of legislation for the Trump Administration.
Prior to the vote in the House, the erratic and slightly unhinged Nancy Pelosi gave a vicious diatribe against the Bill. Most commentators, after her rant, brought up her infamous quote about Obama Care which was “We have to pass the bill in order to see what’s in it.” As for Pelosi herself, her many senseless statements are only eclipsed by the favorite female Democratic Party Senator, Elizabeth Warren. When the gesticulating Warren speaks, accompanied by her frenzied arm-waving, she reminds one of the General who leaped upon his horse and rode off in all directions.
Other big news last week was the statement from the beleaguered Susan Rice that she would not accept an invitation to appear before Congress in order to be questioned about her surreptitious actions in “unmasking” certain Republican names from NSA files. This brought an immediate response from Congressman Trey Gowdy, who said that the invitation to Rice might quickly be replaced by a subpoena for her to appear.
Also last week, the defeated Hillary Clinton made her second personal appearance since she famously stated that she had “come out of the woods” during her initial outing. In that appearance she said that if it had not been for FBI Director Comey and the infamous Wiki Leaks, she would surely have won the Presidency. As counterpoint to that, one has only to read the new book “Shattered” to find out what a state of disarray the Clinton campaign was in.
Recently we stated that in looking at the so-called “Russia Connection”, rather than help Donald Trump, a poster boy for Capitalism, if anything it was an attempt to promote Bernie Sanders, who is a poster boy for Socialism. By revealing the DNC’s and Podesta’s antipathy toward Sanders, Wiki Leaks was doing its level-best to endorse the septuagenarian over the devious Clinton.
In connecting the Russian-Wiki Leaks dots, it is strange that the name of Snowdon, who is the world’s great “leaker” and who resides in Russia, has never come up. Another name that has almost disappeared from sight is that of Huma Abedin, who was able to hold several jobs while at State, which included the besmirched Clinton Foundation.
