Reed’s Brandon Forman and Spanish Springs’ Nick Frankoski both shot 10-over 82s in first round of the state tournament on Monday at Toiyabe Golf Club.

They are in a three-way tie for 34th place out of 51 golfers.

Frankoski tees off at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 minutes before Forman.

In the team competition, Galena and Palo Verde are tied for first after identical 375s. Coronado (379) is in third, followed by Bishop Manogue (391), Faith Lutheran (392) and Foothill (431).

Galena’s Connor Motherway is tied with Palo Verde’s Jack Trent for first place after both shot a two-under 70.

Motherway’s teammate, Jay Babu, is one stroke back in third place after firing a 71.
