Hundreds gathered at the Sparks Marina Monday morning to pay tribute to Veterans and active military at the first annual Stars and Stripes Honor March. The 5K run/walk featured a brief ceremony and helped raise money for the new Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza in Sparks. Participants received an American Flag to carry in the event and a Memorial Day pin.
