Railroaders win fourth straight
Sparks pushed its winning streak to four on Saturday with a 3-0 win at Spring Creek.
The Railroaders improved to 4-2-0, 2-0-0. The Spartans sunk to 2-7-0, 0-2-0 with their fifth straight defeat.
Bryan Parra put the guests on the board in the 30th minute. Bryan Munoz drilled a free kick in the 65th and Cesar Hernandez made the final score 3-0 with his 78th minute tally.
“The boys came out flat,” Sparks coach Jose Espana said. “We played well against a Spring Creek defense that likes to sit back and counter.”
Sparks outshot Spring Creek 32-2.
The Railroaders play their first home game of the season on Wednesday night against Truckee (5-2, 2-0).
Spanish Springs remains unbeaten in 4A North
The Cougars went to Minden on Saturday afternoon and left with a 2-0 win, remaining unbeaten in 4A North.
Spanish Springs improved to 4-1-1, 2-0-1. Douglas sunk to 0-3-2, 0-2-1.
Cristian Camacho (11th minute) and Jorge Camacho (38th minute) scored for the Cougars.
A trip to Galena awaits on Wednesday afternoon.
Raiders bested in Carson
Reed’s brief two-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday with a 3-1 road loss at Carson.
Denilson Capilla scored the only goal for the Raiders (3-2-1, 2-1-0). The Senators improved to 3-2-1, 2-0-1.
Reed will go to Douglas (0-3-2 0-2-1) on Wednesday.

Reed runs past Carson on the road
Hannah Anderson scored five goals on Saturday afternoon as Reed handled Carson on the road, 7-2.
With the Raiders (3-1-0, 2-1-0) leading 3-2 in the second half, Anderson scored four of her goals over a 21-minute span. The Senators (0-3-0, 0-3-0) remained winless.
Taylor Anderson scored the Raiders other two goal in the 4th and 50th minutes.
Reed goes to Douglas (6-0-1, 2-0-1) on Tuesday night.
Spanish Springs salvages point at Douglas
Neither Spanish Springs or Douglas could get on the board on Saturday afternoon in Minden.
The Cougars moved to 3-1-2, 2-0-1 in the 4A North. The Tigers (6-0-1, 2-0-1) saw their six-game winning streak snapped.
Spanish Springs has another tough road test on Tuesday afternoon at Galena (8-0-0, 3-0-0).
Sparks, Spring Creek draw
The Railroaders picked up their first 3A North point of the season on Saturday, earning 1-1 home draw with Spring Creek.
They moved to 1-6-1, 0-1-1.
The guest Spartans tied the match at 1-1 two minutes before the half. Angie Hurtado gave Sparks a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute.
Arsceli Jasso recorded eight saves for Sparks.
The Railroaders go to Truckee on Wednesday night.
