It was a tale of two games last week when the Reed baseball team hooked up with Damonte Ranch for a pair of Sierra League matchups.
Reed got the best of the Mustangs on their own field last Tuesday and scored two in the ninth to get the 6-4 win in nine innings. However, Damonte Ranch returned the favor two days later and knocked off the Reed at their place on Thursday by a score of 16-4.
The Raiders led 4-0 in the fourth inning of Tuesday’s game before Damonte chipped away and eventually tied it in the seventh. Casey Burfield picked up the win on the mound pitching three and a third innings of one run ball. Tanner Clabaugh had three hits for the visitors.
On Thursday, the Mustangs jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back. Scott Cameron finished with two hits, including a two-run home run and two RBIs.
Reed (4-3, 1-1) hosted Bishop Manogue yesterday in a doubleheader and will play two more today at home against Carson.
