The Raiders jumped out to a 4-0 lead last Tuesday against Damonte Ranch but couldn’t hold on and fell 12-9 in its only game of the week.
Damonte scored four runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to put away the visitors and earn its first conference win on the young season.
Carla Hernandez led the way for Spanish Springs with three hits, two RBIs and a home run. Aliya Lange, Trinity Cossette, Alycia Coats and Shelby Marquardt each added two hits in the loss.
Reed (1-3-1, 0-1) was set to host Bishop Manogue in a doubleheader yesterday before traveling to Carson tomorrow for a 3:45 p.m. matchup.
Spanish Springs
Spanish Springs blasted Wooster 15-0 last Thursday in its only game of the week to improve to 5-0 on the season. The Cougs tallied nine hots in the win, including a two-run home run from sophomore Alysa Micone. Tyra Clary earned the win in the circle, giving up just one hit and striking out five.
The Cougs (5-0, 1-0) play a doubleheader at Carson today before traveling to Douglas tomorrow for a 3:45 p.m. game.
