The Raiders took care of business on Saturday by defeating Hug twice by scores of 13-0 and 16-0. Joe Salter struck out seven in just three innings on the mound for Reed in game one and Tanner Clabaugh led the team on offense with a pair of singles and four RBIs. Isaac Tecson finished 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored.
Reed’s Jeremy Gallegos didn’t allow a hit and struck out four in a shortened game two win for his squad. Clabaugh swatted a home run and drove in five runs while Tecson connected with a double and a triple and finished with four RBIs. Rodney Wolfgang and Dylan Husted also had two hits each for the Raiders.
Earlier in the week, Reed fell 11-8 in extra innings at home to McQueen on Thursday after defeating them 9-5 two days prior. Clabaugh finished with four hits and Tyler Imperato had three on Thursday while Trae DeLeon had a pair of RBI double during Tuesday’s win.
Reed (20-10,13-7) sits in sixth place with two games left in the season. The boys host Spanish Springs today at 3:45 p.m. before playing them on the road tomorrow at 4 p.m.
Spanish Springs
Spanish Springs finished the week with two wins and two losses last week in nearly identical fashion.
The Cougs blanked Hug last Tuesday 17-0 on the road and the 15-0 Thursday at home. On Saturday, the boys fell 11-3 in back-to-back games on the road at Reno.
With just two games left to play against Reed today and tomorrow, the Cougs (14-11,11-9) sit in seventh place, just two games behind the Raiders.
