Baseball: The Raiders returned from Spring break with three games in five days and came up short in all three.
Reed fell to Carson 3-2 in eight innings last Tuesday before losing to Reno 5-2 on Thursday. Scott Cameron had two hits and three RBIs for Reed on Saturday but his team came up short in an 8-4 loss to Galena.
The Raiders (8-10, 2-5) have a busy week ahead with a game at Lassen today and Bishop Manogue tomorrow.
Softball: The Reed softball team had a big week after more than doubling their season win total in just four days.
The Raiders beat Galena 15-0 and 14-3 in a doubleheader last Wednesday and knocked off Wooster 10-1 the next day. They capped off the stretch with a pair of wins at Damonte Ranch Saturday, 10-0 and 18-6. Alycia Coats had four hits and three RBIs in the two wins against the Mustangs.
Reed (9-11, 6-3) hosts Bishop Manogue tomorrow at 3:45 p.m.
Spanish Springs
Baseball: After adding three more wins last week, the Spanish Springs baseball team has climbed into third place in the 4A Northern standings.
The Cougs took care of Wooster 12-2 last Tuesday and Carson 6-4 on Thursday before beating Bishop Manogue 7-6 Saturday.
Spanish Springs is 11-3 overall on the season and 5-2 in league play. They host Douglas and Reno this week.
Softball: The Cougs had bookend 17-run outputs in the middle of a 1-0 loss over its three games last week.
Spanish Springs knocked off Galena 17-0 on Thursday in a game that saw Tyra Clary go 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs and pitch a complete game shutout in the circle.
Clary was on the mound in a 1-0 loss of game one of a doubleheader Saturday against Bishop Manogue and struck out six. The girls bounced back in game two with a 17-7 win that was led on offense by Alysa Micone and Hunter Travers who had four hits each.
The Cougs (13-4, 5-2) sit in third place in their division and host Reno tomorrow before playing two at Damonte Ranch Saturday.
