Reed responded after a pair of shutout losses to Douglas last Saturday and won all three games they played last week.
The Raiders blanked Wooster 11-0 Thursday when freshman Danyelle Leone tossed a no-hitter in the circle with 13 strikeouts. Shelby Marquardt led the way with three hits and two RBIs.
Reed then went on to sweep a doubleheader on Saturday from Reno 11-7 and 8-1. Alycia Coats went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the game one win while Marquardt went 3-for-4 with a home run and drove in two.
Leone struck out 12 over seven innings of work in game two and Coats finished 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run. Camryn Altimus also added a home run in the win.
Reed (14-14, 10-6) now sits in sixth place in the division and plays McQueen and Spanish Springs twice this week to end the regular season.
Spanish Springs
The defending state champion Spanish Springs High softball team have positioned themselves to make another run in the postseason.
The Cougs won three more games last week and are winners of nine of the last 10 games and are still tied for first place in the division.
Cougar freshman Hailey Mclean faced the minimum 21 batters in a seven inning perfect game while striking out 13 on Thursday in a 7-0 win against Galena. Mclean scored two runs and connected with an RBI triple in the game while Kennedy Dudley led the way on offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
Saturday it was Tyra Clary’s turn to toe the circle in game one of a doubleheader against Douglas and the junior delivered once again. Clary struck out eight and surrendered one run over seven innings of work in the 5-1 win.
Mclean turned in another dominant performance in a 1-0 win in game two with 13 strikeouts while giving up just two hits. Clary drove in the only run of the game with an RBI single.
Spanish Springs (21-5, 13-3) plays two games against Wooster and two games against Reed this week to close the regular season. McQueen is tied with the Cougs for first place at 13-3 while Bishop Manogue, Douglas and Carson are right on their heels at 12-4.
