Reed opened with the No. 3 seed Carson on Thursday and hung with the Senators early before eventually falling 10-2. Carson jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings before the Raiders answered with a pair to cut the score to 3-2. Carson went on to score three in the fifth and four in the sixth to pull away late. Camryn Altimus smacked a solo home run for Reed in the loss.
The Raiders played Damonte Ranch in an elimination game later in the day and picked up a 9-4 win. Danyelle Leone pitched 4 2/3 strong innings and struck out seven and didn’t allow a run, while Jillian Kygar led the way on offense with two home runs, a single and four RBIs. Alycia Coats also had three hits, including a home run and drove in three in the win.
After jumping out to a 4-1 lead through two innings against McQueen on Friday, the Raiders had their season ended when the Lancers outscored them 10-0 over the next three innings. Coats hit her second home run in as many games in the loss.
