With Air Force’s victory over San José State, Nevada has clinched a spot in the 2019 Mountain West Tournament. The tournament will be held in Reno at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park beginning May 23.
The Wolf Pack finished conference play with a three-game sweep last week at San José State to give it a 14-16 MW record. Following the necessary sweep to stay alive, and the Spartans and Air Force series not ending in a sweep, Nevada has now reached the conference tournament all four years under head coach T.J. Bruce.
Fresno State clinched the Mountain West regular-season title and will serve as the No. 1 seed. San Diego State will be the No. 2 seed for the second year in a row. UNLV will be the No. 3 seed and Nevada claimed the fourth spot in the double-elimination tournament.
The Aztecs will face the Rebels in the first game of the tourney on Thursday at 2 p.m. and the Wolf Pack will take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m.
The title game is set for Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.
