The Raiders returned to their winning ways on Friday when they blew out McQueen at home in the conference opener, 66-9. Reed improves to 4-2 overall after dropping the two previous games.
Reed’s offense featured a nice mix of running and passing, but was highlighted by a huge night by Elijah Tau-Tolliver. The junior running back carried the ball just eight times, but racked up 260 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Jack Franz also ran one in the end zone for a score, and Malachi Bibbs made the most of his one carry with a 31-yard touchdown run.
Franz also had a good night behind center with 216 passing yards and three touchdowns, two to Alex Cesarez and a 67-yard score to Roman Villegas.Tyler Curry led the defense with 12 tackles, while Ezra Belingheri and Bobby Carlblom each had an interception.
Reed (4-2, 1-0) plays at Hug (0-7, 0-1) Friday night at 7 p.m.
Spanish Springs
The Cougs (3-3, 0-0) were off last week and open conference play at McQueen (2-4, 0-1) Friday night at 7 p.m.
Sparks
The Railroaders dropped their sixth straight game Friday night when they fell to Fernley, 57-14.
Ben Castens led the way on offense for Sparks with 12 carries for 26 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Tyler Green ran the ball 17 times for 59 yards. Green also completed a touchdown pass to Cole Meacham.
Sparks (1-6, 0-5) host Truckee (3-3, 3-2) Friday at 7 p.m.
