Reed ran away in the second half of their first round playoff game with Douglas Friday to come away with a 63-21 win.
Elijah Tau-Tolliver pushes across the goal line for one of his four rushing touchdowns Friday night. The junior also caught a touchdown pass in Reed’s blowout win.

The higher seeds all prevailed in the Northern Regional playoff quarterfinals on Friday as the top four teams in the north will now meet for a chance at the league title.

Top seeded Spanish Springs held off a game Wooster club with a strong second half after the teams traded scores in the first. The Cougs led just 21-14 at the break before scoring the games final 20 points over the final two quarters for the 41-14 win.

It was a similar story on the other side of the Rail City as No. 2 Reed and No. 3 Douglas lit up the scoreboard in the first half of their matchup. The Raiders would eventually take a 35-21 advantage into the half and blanked the Tigers the rest of the game and won 63-21.

Reed quarterback Jack Franz threw for three touchdowns and Elijah Tau-Tolliver ran for four on 17 carries for 196 yards.

In other action, Bishop Manogue defeated McQueen 56-7 and Damonte Ranch squeaked past Reno 28-21.

The Cougs will take on the Miners Friday night and the Raiders will battle the Mustangs with the winners meeting in the regional title game next week.

Both Damonte Ranch beat Reed 19-6 on Sept. 27 and Spanish Springs defeated Bishop Manogue 28-19 on the same night.
