Bishop Manogue runs past Damonte Ranch in Title Game

Bishop Manogue quarterback Drew Scolari attempts to break free from a Damonte Ranch tackler during Monday’s 4A Northern title game. The Miners won the game 24-7.

Bishop Manogue rallied back from a 7-0 deficit to Damonte Ranch in the first quarter to claim the 4A Northern title Monday night, 24-7.

The Miners scored 14 points in the second quarter to take a 14-7 lead into the break, and its defense held serve the remainder of the game as they went on to victory.

Bishop Manogue moves on to the state tournament where they will meet Liberty in the semifinals Saturday in Las Vegas. The winner will face the winner of Desert Pines and Centennial in the state title game the following week at Sam Boyd Stadium.

Damonte Ranch defeated Reed to get to the title game on Wednesday, 28-12. The Raiders finished the season 6-5 overall.
