Having written more than my fair share of political speeches, press releases, radio, TV and newspaper ads I am currently confused about who is doing the same thing for the Biden campaign. One day Biden says he would shut the country down again, the next day he disavows that statement. Also, in one 24 hour period he says that he will cancel fracking and in the next 24 hour period he claims he would not be against fracking. Although he claims he is not for defunding the police, he says some of their budget should be allocated to other programs. He has also vehemently stated that China is not our problem and then says it is time to bring back all manufacturing to America. Of course, it is public knowledge that he has one and a half billion reasons to love China because of their munificence to his son Hunter.
When Biden was vice president, he was seen as somewhat of a doofus, as he smiled constantly in the background and would embrace Obama when he (Biden) was not sniffing women’s hair or touching them inappropriately. The standing joke in Washington during Biden’s time in office was that he was Obama’s life insurance policy.
Currently, Biden is the most prominent Monday morning quarterback in the country as he continues to second guess Trump’s every move. A good example of this is his criticism of Trump’s handling of the COVID pandemic. He seems to not remember that when Trump acted promptly by issuing the Chinese travel ban, which he (Biden) called racist and hysterical, Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio were telling New Yorkers that the virus was not a big deal. Also, late in February the ditsy Nancy Pelosi was telling the world to come to San Francisco to celebrate Chinese New Year. Pelosi issued the invitation while in Chinatown herself.
Shortly after I wrote the above, I saw for the first time Biden’s national press secretary, Ducklo (by name and nature) attempt to answer two important questions. They were; 1. Did Biden oppose the Trump travel ban on China? 2. Does Biden use the teleprompter to answer questions that have been disclosed to him?
With his failure to answer a simple question with an equally simple “yes” or “no”, Ducklo revealed why so many of Biden’s statements seem to contradict one another.
BERNIE’S REVOLUTION. For years now Bernie Sanders has been calling for a revolution. Finally it has come to pass with the “Black Lives Matter” movement which has permitted arsonists and looters to infiltrate its ranks. By doing so BLM has given itself a black eye (no pun intended). Recent TV footage has shown the protestors becoming more insulting of police and members actually harassing innocent bystanders. In one instance, BLM marchers approached a couple of elderly outside diners and proceeded to trash their food and actually pick up one of their drinks and quaff it down. Also, the language used by the marchers has gotten more vile and scatological.
RENO ON THE BIG SCREEN. One night last week Reno and the University got quite a bit of exposure on the TCM channel in a trio of flicks. The first one was Mr. Belvedere Goes to College, starring Shirley Temple and Clifton Webb. The second was Mother Was a Freshman, starring Loretta Young and Van Johnson. The third was Born to Kill, a low budget Lawerence Tierney film.
The only one of the three movies I had anything to do with was the Belvedere film. The reason I got involved was that I happened to be at the SAGEBRUSH, the school newspaper, when the editor tossed me a letter from 20th Century Fox that stated one Pat O’Hara would be arriving by train at a certain time to scout locations for an upcoming motion picture. The reason I got the missive was that I wrote movie reviews for the paper.
Because my roommate had a nice convertible, we decided to pick up O’Hara at the train station and offer to be his ride around town. It worked out fine because in return O’Hara made sure that the two of us got steady work as extras.
O’Hara was so appreciative of our help that he offered to have us stay at his spacious apartment in Los Angeles when we traveled south for our Christmas break.

Any reasonable person can change their mind. And Biden may have changed his mind on certain positions he has taken. But he doesn’t change or deny the facts. That is left for Trump to do.
