Andelin Family Farm’s Harvest Festival is back and offering a plethora of fall-themed activities, spooky adventures, and a pumpkin patch for people of all ages to enjoy.
The Harvest Festival is open Wednesdays-Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday, October 29. Tickets cost $13-$17 depending on what day you go and kids two and under are free.
Admission to the pumpkin patch includes free wagon and barrel train rides; mini ziplines for kids; strawbale maze; life-size hamster wheel; lassoing pit; duck races; sandpit; a slide mountain; and access to the U-Pick pumpkin patches and petting pens with sheep, goats, and chickens. Friendly farm animals including cows, ponies, llamas, horses, emus, bunnies, camels, kunekunes, alpacas, and others can also be spotted at the farm.
For a separate fee, visitors can ride ponies around the corral for $8 per ride, practice sluicing for gems and fossils (sandbags are $6-$30 depending on size and gem contents) or shoot corn cobbs out of a cannon (two shots for a dollar). Pumpkins that you pick yourself are priced by variety and weight, and u-pick sunflowers may also be available. Food trailers are on site serving hot food and apple cider slushies, and lots of gifts, merchandise, and farm apparel is available in the Farm Store.
The Big 5-Acre Corn Maze is open Wednesdays-Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Saturday, October 29 and two bonus nights have been added on November 4-5 for a cost of $8-$10. From an aerial view, this year’s corn maze spells out the words “Silver State” and features shapes of a bluebird, desert tortoise, bighorn sheep, sagebrush, and the ichthyosaur to pay homage to the state and the farm’s theme this year, “Symbols of Nevada.”
When the sun goes down, the Corn Creepers come out and people are invited to go through the Corn Creepers Haunt open Thursday- Saturday evenings through November 5. As one of Northern Nevada’s top fall attractions, people navigate through a ½-mile corn maze (separate from the Big 5-Acre Corn Maze) as zombies, monsters, and nightmarish actors jump out and scare the bejeezus out of its inhabitants. Those who are a little timid or get startled easily can buy a one dollar glow necklace and the Creepers will tone down the fright. Tickets are $20-$22 and subject to sell out.
