The HUB@Oddie located at 1835 Oddie Boulevard recently underwent a total transformation and is now the location of 59 apartments that include studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom living spaces.
The HUB was originally a skilled nursing facility that was managed by Renown Health, yet it has been vacant for the past three years. Lara Properties took over the land and began the renovation of the dilapidated property in July of 2021 with the intent of repurposing the building to reduce environmental impact caused by a total demolition. By renovating the property, Lara Properties was able to reach a faster completion date and keep most of its major structural components, just replacing its plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems which result in less noise, material waste, and traffic disturbances.

The HUB@Oddie recently underwent a transformation and is now open as an apartment complex in Sparks.
“Contributing to the transformation of the Oddie Corridor has been exciting for us. When we found this unique property, we knew it could be repurposed to provide modern affordable living spaces that create a close community within. We are proud to have created a beautiful addition to the Oddie Corridor transformation,” said Lara Properties LLC Developer Del Nordby.
The HUB is a pet-friendly, adaptive living complex with new landscaping and contemporary conveniences. Every unit includes stainless steel kitchen appliances; laminate flooring and carpet; and large windows bring in an abundance of natural light throughout the space. Many of The HUB’s units also have semi-private patios that look out into community courtyards. Along with the in-unit amenities, residents have access to a dog wash, media/game room, laundry room, fitness center, high-speed internet and cable, and other storage spaces available for a fee. There’s also a mail room, gated courtyards, secure fob access to The HUB, and daily door-to-door trash collection service.
The HUB is also close to the University of Nevada, Reno campus, bus stops, Grocery Outlet, and Jimboy’s Tacos, included as the last anchor of the Oddie corridor project.
The HUB started leasing its units in late fall of 2022 and was at 40 percent capacity by December (it is now at 60 percent capacity). All the studios are rented out, but there are a few one-bedroom apartments left (and one two-bedroom apartment as of March 13, 2023). Rents range from $900-$2,150 per month.
“Living at The HUB has been a great experience; I enjoy using the game room and gym facility. I am the first person to live in my unit and I appreciate the new and modern living space,” says one of The HUB’s residents, Nate Rhoda.
Lara Properties will launch Phase 2 of the project this summer, which includes the construction of a 2,875-sq.-ft. commercial kitchen meant to be ideal for caterers, food truck businesses, and culinary entrepreneurs.
