Kenneth Ronald Mitcham 85 a resident of Sparks, NV, Passed away on March 7, 2023. Ken was born on September 29, 1937, in Vancouver, WA. the 8th of 10 children of Ralph and Clara Mitcham.
After graduating from high school in Vancouver, WA. Ken enlisted the Army and was stationed in South Korea.
After his honorable discharge, Ken settled in Napa, CA and on December 30, 1958, he married Sharon McElwin. They had one son, Marty.
He worked in construction, building houses and for many years he ran his own business as a private contractor.
Ken was an amazing man who made many friends over the years, he was a devoted father and husband. Ken spent his spare time coaching little league, volunteering as a scout leader, hunting, fishing and camping with his family.
On December 8, 2000, Ken’s wife Sharon passed away. Shortly after that Ken relocated to Sparks, NV to be closer to his son and grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Marty and wife Karen Francis Mitcham. Grandchildren Heather (Mitcham) Spitz and spouse Steve Spitz and their Children Danica and harper. Grandson Michael Mitcham, his two sons, Emmitt and Jax and their mother Jackie.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Sharon (McElwain) Mitcham. His parents Ralph A Mitcham and Clara E. (Beden) Mitcham, His brothers and sisters Maxine Vassar, Dorothy Ewing, Unnamed baby boy who died at birth, Buster Mitcham who died just short of two years, Loretta Powell, Wanda Greenfield, Janet Cosner, Gerald (Johnny) Mitcham and Vanita Cutler.
A private cremation was held, Internment of his ashes and memorial service will be held at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley NV.
