The third annual Fall Into The Holidays Craft Fair put on by the City of Sparks Parks and Recreation department is happening this Saturday, September 16 from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. at the Sparks Recreation Gym on 98 Richards Way across from the senior center.
More than 70 vendors will be selling original and unique handmade items, everything from jewelry and art to soaps, candles, knitted items, quilts, cards, and more. Half of the vendors will be in the gym and half set up outside.
City of Sparks Recreation Specialist Brittany Martinez says that many of the vendors are from Sparks and Reno, while others are coming from Dayton and Fallon. All are from Northern Nevada.
“I like the community involvement,” Martinez says when asked about what her favorite part of the craft fair is. “All of these vendors have worked hard all year long to create homemade, unique items. There’s a little bit of everything here,” she adds. Her favorite things to buy are scented items from the Truckee Meadows Candle Company, mosaic pieces, books, and blankets. Martinez says that she’s also excited that a permanent jewelry vendor will be there, welding bracelets, anklets, and other body adornments.
Haus of Beignets and Cheli’s food trucks will also be onsite serving beignets, coffee, and lunch items.
“We invite the community to kick off the holidays with some amazing shopping,” says Martinez. “This event is an opportunity for local crafters to show off their unique items.” This is the perfect chance for people to get a head start on their holiday shopping and upgrade their seasonal décor with items made right here in Northern Nevada.
