
Charles Ferdinando Dianda, aged 88, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2024, at his daughter’s residence in Reno, Nevada.
Charles was one of four siblings, born on November 19, 1935, in Sparks, Nevada, to Ferdinando and Ruby Dianda. He excelled as a basketball player at Sparks High School, graduating with the class of 1954.
Post-graduation, Charles enlisted in the Nevada National Guard, serving for eight years while simultaneously pursuing a carpentry education through the Carpenters Union Local 971. His dedication led him to a successful carpenter career after four years of schooling.
In 1964, Charles married his beloved Janice “Bobbie” Hutchins, and they shared a fulfilling life as best friends and husband and wife until her passing in 2022. Relocating to St. Maries Idaho in 1977 after a work-related injury, Charles lent his skills to building houses alongside his brother Albert “Bud” Dianda. Additionally, he contributed to the McGregor family’s enterprise, managing Tenth Street Lumber.
An enthusiast of gardening, competitive rifle shooting, and model car construction, Charles lived a life rich in diverse interests and passions. Loving a contentious game of pinocle. He was known for his developed sense of humor and contagious laugh, bringing joy to those around him.
Charles spent the last year of his life lovingly cared for by his Daughter Valerie, husband George, grandchildren Charnice, Sarah, and Jeremy, and his Great Grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his daughter Valerie and her husband George Burke of Reno, Nevada. His brother Bud and wife Juanita Dianda of St. Maries, his sister Ethel (Sis) Graving of Sparks, Nevada, sister Tammy and Bob Lopes of Sparks, Nevada, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Bobbie.
Services commemorating his life will be arranged at his St. Maries residence at a later date.
