The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the quake in Silver Springs, NV, on Monday was measured at magnitude 5.7.
The quake occurred at a depth of about 10 kilometers. It was felt as far away as Fallon.
No significant damage has been reported, but residents were warned to be prepared for possible aftershocks.
