The final High Desert League girls golf tournament of the year was cancelled on Monday at Somersett and will not be made up.
Spanish Springs won four of the five tournaments this year to claim the league title. The Cougars’ Emma Gilmore finished with an average score of 77.6 to win the individual league title. She edged her teammate, Jada McAlister, who had an average of 78 in the five tournaments.
Gilmore took 388 strokes this year. McAlister took 390.
Sophomore Kaitlin Fleiner led Reed with an average score of 86.4.
It’s now onto the postseason for the entire 4A North. The regional tournament will start next Tuesday at Genoa Lakes and conclude one day later at Washoe.
