The schedule dramatically slowed last week with the holiday.
So there’s not a whole lot of movement in the fifth edition of the Sparks Tribune 4A North Girls Hoops Power Rankings, but they wouldn’t be weekly if they didn’t come out, well, weekly.
To view how the rankings have progressed, click here.
1. Bishop Manogue (7-0, 4-0)
With wins already over Reed and Reno, a Jan. 3 home date against McQueen could be the Miner’s biggest regular season 4A North game remaining.
Last week: 1
2. Reno Huskies (7-3, 3-1)
The Huskies aren’t as dominant as they’ve been in years past, mostly because they don’t have one of the McGwire sisters on the roster.
Still, they’re the team to beat in the High Desert League.
Last week: 2
3. Reed Raiders (4-2, 3-1)
A few games remain until then, but the Raiders are certainly counting down the days until Jan. 13, when they go to Reno.
Last week: 3
4. McQueen Lancers (7-3, 4-0)
If Reed is in the conversation to potentially upend Reno, McQueen is too.
Like most of the HDL, the Lancers have beaten up on the Sierra League early.
Last week: 4
5. Spanish Springs Cougars (7-3, 4-0)
The Cougs won their sixth straight game last Tuesday, a 49-39 non-league win at Lassen (Susanville, Calif.).
Last week: 5
Outside looking in: North Valleys Panthers
