Last week the most important news in many years occurred when President Trump met with the leader of North Korea in Singapore. The object of the meeting as stated by Trump was the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. If that event comes to pass, it could be the most significant achievement of Trump’s presidency.
By taking the bull by the horns, Trump has done what no administration before him was able to accomplish. One of the facts that might have made this meeting possible is that he (Trump) is dealing with a dictator who is considerably younger and more modern in his thinking than the previous members of his family, who ruled with an iron fist when it came to outside diplomacy.
Prior to the meeting, the left-wing media characterized Trump as some sort of buffoon who was ignoring the niceties of protracted diplomacy. In fact, Trump had skillfully demeaned and threatened “Little Rocket Man” initially in order to put him on the defensive. Then Trump slapped on heavy sanctions that hurt the NoKo economy. Further, when there were some adverse comments coming from the North Koreans about the proposed meeting and castigating Vice President Pence, Trump did the unthinkable by abruptly cancelling the Summit.
All of these moves played out perfectly for Trump as he was able to bring Kim to again request the meeting be held.
As usual, the mainstream media downplayed any success by Trump. The talking head pundits, who had previously criticized Trump for bringing the nation close to nuclear war several months ago, could not fathom how a US President could sit down with a known dictator, thus legitimizing that dictator. Apparently the self-righteous geniuses forgot about the fact that President Obama practically groveled at the feet of the Venezuelan dictator and happily did “the wave” with Castro’s brother at a ball game in Cuba.
One of the Left’s main topics was to compare Trump’s deal with Obama’s Iran deal. What they never mentioned was that when Trump is finished with negotiations and verifications, he will present the framework for a lasting treaty to be approved by Congress. This is in sharp contrast to the Iran Agreement, which was never ratified by Congress but was instead funneled by Obama and Kerry to the United Nations for approval, thus making it easily revocable by Trump, which he did.
Overshadowed by the Trump-Kim meeting were a number of other pertinent stories that occurred recently. One such item that exposed the mainstream talking heads as more speculative than reportorial was the treatment they gave to Melania Trump’s absence from public view. The wide range of guesses included, “She was hiding because of a face-lift”, “Trump had physically abused her,” “Her operation was much more severe than reported,” and that the couple was getting a divorce. When Melania reappeared, fresh as a daisy, most of the so-called commentators had serious egg on their faces.
Another story that should have received more prominence occurred when the rather ditzy Nancy Pelosi claimed that the murderous thugs of M-13 were possessed of a “divine spark”. Perhaps Nancy should have a face-to-face meeting with the parents of the teenage girls that were physically abused and then murdered by those divine entities.
Currently Stormy Daniels’ attorney is vying with Adam Schiff for the most time on TV. It is incomprehensible how the mainstream media is allowing Avenatti to try his case for Stormy in the public forum rather than in a courtroom. As for Schiff, his greatest credential is the fact that he is a notorious leaker of supposedly classified information.
Most disturbing news of all—especially for Democrats—is the fact that ex-President Barack Obama is currently on course to pick the Democrat nominee for president in 2020. Of all the candidates he has interviewed so far, the front-runner seems to be Crazy Joe Biden, his adoring supplicant for eight years. In addition, news has come out that the Democrat Party, which is bereft of a strong political reason to be re-elected, is now turning to Hollywood writers to craft a saleable message for their up-coming campaign in the mid-term.
Television and the Press are not the only ones disrespecting and castigating Trump. The so-called comics on TV are led by the foul-mouthed Bill Maher, who recently expounded to overwhelming applause that he was praying for a recession that will end Trump’s presidency. Apparently Maher doesn’t care about the millions of Americans who would be hurt again by a recession that was extended for eight years by Obama. Another comic professing to be a champion of womanhood like all other liberals, is scruffy Jimmy Kimmel, who regularly maligns Melania Trump’s accent and her marriage to Donald. For Kimmel’s edification, Melania is conversant in five languages. How many languages can you speak, Jimmy?
