Newswise, last week started off with a bang and ended in a fizzle. The bang was the announcement of al-Baghdadi’s death and the fizzle was the one sided vote in Congress to formalize the impeachment inquiry that has been going on ever since Jerry Nadler started it in the judicial committee. What that vote did in essence is to bring out in public what Adam Schiff has been doing behind closed doors for the past several weeks. Because speaker Pelosi snatched the inquiry proceedings from the rightful Judicial Committee and gave it to Schiff everything has been kept from the public except for certain leaks that Schiff and his cronies have released.
As for the Baghdadi matter, none of the Democrats or the liberal press has seen fit to give Trump any credit for authorizing the strike. The mentally challenged Joe Biden even went so far as to say that the event happened in spite of the President’s involvement. Most glaring example of how whacked out the mainstream media is occurred when the Washington Post headline about Baghdadi’s death noted that he was “an astute religious scholar”. This was a prime example of how the Post, which was once a respected newspaper, has sunk to the very bottom of journalistic standards. Baghdadi was in fact a hands on perpetrator of some of the most horrible things that went on in the Middle East since the formation of ISIS, which President Obama called merely a “JV team”.
Getting back to Thursday’s vote in the house, which quite appropriately was held on Halloween. While it purportedly gave great leeway to the Republicans to participate in the process, it came with a number of strings attached wherein Chairman Schiff had to give permission for anything the Republicans could bring before the committee.
As for Schiff’s conduct of the inquiry, so far he completely made a mess of it when he lied about communicating with the so called Whistleblower and also delivered a fictionalized version of Trump’s phone call to the Ukraine president.
Now Schiff says that the so called Whistleblower does not have to appear to give testimony probably because of the fact that the Whistleblower’s name has been “outed” and that he is a staunch Democrat who has not only worked for Biden but also Trump’s arch enemy, Brennan***.
The always rattled speaker Pelosi seems to have very selected memory when it comes to impeachment in general, for a TV clip in March of this year she was shown saying that impeachment was not good for the country and should be only brought when it was a bi-partisan matter. Maybe when she looks at the votes that were cast last Thursday she will realize that is was done in a strictly partisan matter, with two of the Democrats voting against it. She also probably doesn’t realize that when she hands over Schiff’s muddled mess to the proper committee headed by Nadler she may have to take another vote to remove the restrictions that are in the current resolution. In most of Schiff’s TV appearances, Rep. Swalwell is close by his side and in many instances he is whispering legal advice into Schiff’s ear. Sort of reminds you of the two characters in “Dumb and Dumber”***.
Other news at the end of last week was that Senator Warren’s Plan for paying for “medicare for all” came in at a total cost of 52 trillion dollars. This was 20 trillion over the initial projection of 32 trillion dollars, which was regarded as an impossibility without raising taxes on the middle class. Warren’s plan would knock millions of people off their preferred private insurance and completely disrupt the insurance industry, which would put a vast number of people out of work. While Warren is the current front-runner in many of the Democrat polls, she has now come under a more spirited attack from her nearest competitor, Joe Biden. Joe has even called on Warren’s lack of veracity which is a pretty well known fact***.
Latest news to break late last week was that the Senator heading the Homeland Security Committee had sought to get the Hillary-Obama emails from the national archives. This move was probably spurred by the fact that ever increasing rumors are spreading about Hillary getting into the Presidential race once again
